We set all these goals  
Embodiments of our desires  
Set forth in the future  
Something menial to everyone but yourself

We attach a certain amount of emotion  
To this goal, stack them in a bucket  
A bucket list of happiness  
Stacked in posterity,  
With a little mystery strung to it

We are still advised to be present  
To relish in the now  
For tomorrow will always be in haste  
Like the wind, we could chase  
Continue this cyclical race  
With a bitter aftertaste

My take, the chase is inherent  
Something we can't erase  
For therein our hope rests

In this timeless chase  
Of what could be  
What can be  
What already is  
Our wildest dreams.
