All the things that could have been,  
Gone in a haze of a wanting abyss  
The decisions I took were definitive of my bliss  
A bliss that was fleeting, in haste I reminisced  
Of the parts of me that were, the parts of me I keep.

I try to catch a breath, but I'm lost in this rat race  
Rekindling a fascination I once had,  
A recreation of my ideals,  
a romantic tale of what could be,

She said I was lost, but I didn't take heed  
The pleas the petitions, my mind fleeting  
Lost in a haze of my transgressions  
I heave and rave, carrying on  
In perpetuation of my predicament.
